Uganda comes back empty handed from Kenya’s hosted IAAF World U18 Athletics

Uganda failed to pick up a single medal in the Kenyan capital Nairobi as the curtains drew on the last ever IAAF World U18 Athletics Championships yesterday – Sunday.

Joel Kiplangat, who was the last hope for a medal came up short in the boys’ 2000m steeplechase final, finishing seventh in a race won by Leonard Kipkemoi Bett from Kenya.

Earlier, also on the final day of the event, Uganda’s Titus Kwemoi and Oscar Chelimo failed to make podium finish in the boys 3000m final.

Uganda fielded in 12 athletes in the competition that had 131 countries taking part.
